EldaFoundation is a family-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit delivering food, shelter, and safety to women and children in crisis—both in Philadelphia and across Liberia, West Africa.

Since 2018, EldaFoundation has operated on a simple but radical idea: that volunteer passion and community generosity can save lives. We support women and children fleeing domestic violence, hunger, and displacement with food, housing, and healing resources—without ever having a paid staff.
We’ve already served over 240 families. With your support, we can serve hundreds more.
Our Offerings
EldaFoundation provides direct, practical support to families in crisis. Our focus is on providing emergency response, sustained aid, and long-term empowerment to communities in need.
Housing Support
A safe door changes everything.
We help families find secure, emergency and transitional housing:
In Liberia: Domestic violence survivors receive safe shelter to heal and rebuild.
In Philadelphia: Refugees and vulnerable women access permanent housing.
Food Security
End hunger, start hope.
We provide pantry meals and hot food distribution to children and mothers in crisis.
In 2020, over 150 individuals received emergency food aid.
$25 = one week of meals for a child.
Refugee Resettlement
We assist newly arrived refugees in their first 90 days with:
Cultural orientation and health care access
Housing, food, and clothing
Government registration and benefits
International Aid
We deliver fast-response aid in Liberia including:
Emergency relief in crises
Women & youth empowerment
Education and school support
Clean water and food aid

We’re 100% volunteer-led. Whether you give time on-site in Philly or online from anywhere, we need you.

With extensive experience in nursing and maternal health, Elda brings a nurturing spirit and clinical expertise that shapes the foundation’s focus.
Elizabeth Bemah,
DNP, FNP-BC
Co-Founder & Director of Health Initiatives
Elizabeth, a family nurse practitioner and advocate, leads our medical outreach and maternal/child health programs in Liberia and Philadelphia.
Albert Foster,
FNP-BC, MSN, BSN
Co-Founder & Operations Lead
Albert oversees the foundation’s operational strategy, blending medical knowledge with strong leadership to build programs that expand the foundation’s reach.
